History

OJSC “Crimean Soda Plant” started its history in 1967, the year when its construction activity began. The museum of the plant has accumulated material about scientists, who explored Perekop salt lakes and Lake Sivash, about designers who developed the plant project, about people who nailed up the first stakes into soil, on specialists and workers who took part in production of the first tons of material, director of the plant during the time when it was under construction and all those people who were at the head of the plant during subsequent years, about glorious labor dynasties, labor collective and its traditions.

From the very beginning construction of the plant system has been proved by proximity of Lake Sivash as a natural salt deposit, Balaklava lime stone natural formation, availability of energy resources and water reserves of the North-Crimean Canal, transportation junctions, closed salt lakes for discharge of production waste.

  • 1998 – reorganization in OJSC «Crimean Soda Plant»

  • 2008 –launching of table salt “Extra” production
  • March 2009 – production of the 18-th million Mt of soda ash
